What’s it all about?

There are so many fantastic shows out there — and only so many opportunities to sing them. This series is a purely social event for musical theater nerds to come together and geek out over some of our favorite scores by singing them from beginning to end.

How does it work?

We choose a musical in advance and send it to our mailing list. Those who wish to join sign up and will be assigned parts in advance so you can prepare. On the day of, we meet along with our wonderful piano accompanist and sing through the entire score, including reading the libretto (script) if applicable.

Who can participate?

Everyone who loves musicals is welcome. You don’t need any special experience or training to participate — just a willingness to sing along. When you sign up you can indicate your vocal type and if you have a preferred part in the show (no guarantees, though).

How do I get a part?

If you’ve never been to one of our events before, we recommend that you come and sing along with the ensemble once. After that, you’re welcome to request a solo or specific part in future table reads when you sign up. Casting isn’t guaranteed but we try to honor requests.

What does it cost?

We charge 50 kr (payable via Mobilepay) to save your spot. When you arrive, this also gets you one free drink (wine, beer, or soda). If you can’t make it on the day, the 50 kr is non-refundable. We also encourage you to buy drinks to support the venues that host us.

Can I come just to watch?

Yes, you can come even if you don’t want to sing — although we encourage you to join in with the chorus if you can! Just remember this is a purely social event, not a performance.

What shows do you do?

We try to pick popular shows with lots of parts so that everyone can participate. If you have a particular show you want to do, send us an email or write us on Facebook or Instagram.

Can I play piano?

Absolutely! If you’re interested in accompanying a table read, send us an email with a bit of information about yourself. It is a paying gig, and players get to help pick the next show.

How do I sign up?

Email us to join our invitation list. These events are invitation-only and will not be advertised on our website or social media.
